Tech week rehearsals and performances will take place at The Paw Paw Playhouse, 404 E. Michigan Avenue.
TECH WEEK
Tech week rehearsals are on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday from 4:00 to 6:30 before Saturday's performances. All performers are required to attend all five tech week rehearsals. These are the rehearsals where we put all the pieces of production together. Full attendance is essential to a confident performance. Each person on the stage effects all the others; we are a team! Please adjust your regular schedule for that week to allow your performer to be there.
PERFORMANCES
"Call time" (the time performers should arrive) on the day of the performances is between 1:30 and 1:45pm. Please have your child at the stage with costume, make-up, and hair done before 2:00.
The house opens (that means the audience may come in) at 2:30 for the first show and at 4:30 for the second.
Curtain (the time the show starts) is at 3:00 for the first show and 5:00 for the second.
The show should last about 50 minutes.
COSTUMES
There are no extra fees for costumes, but you may have to provide a few costume pieces. We strive for "from-your-closet" costuming, so you can use things you already have or buy things that can be reused. We are always happy to help out if there is a piece you can't find. Anything you provide, you keep. Anything we provide, we keep.
INSTRUCTORS
Classes are taught by musical theatre professionals Jonathan and Angela Talmadge.

Elementary Musical Theatre, Grades 1- 5
Enroll for an Elementary Musical Theatre production and have the opportunity to play any part in our latest show. The focus in this class is on rehearsing for a successful performance. Every actor gets a part, their own moment to shine. More experienced actors usually have parts with lines and dancing or singing solos. Younger actors and beginners will usually sing and dance in chorus and small group parts. Students will learn theatre basics like stage directions, blocking, choreography, and backstage etiquette, as well as more complicated concepts like character development and script analysis. They'll practice teamwork, kindness, perseverance, and patience while accomplishing something great, and have lots of fun in the process!
