take a bath

August 19 - 23

Based on 2 KINGS 5: 1-19.
Big, tough General Namaan has a rash and no one can help.  Namaan's wife's maid Erelah has a suggestion: Go to Israel, her home, and ask the great prophet Elisha for some help.  Namaan expects fireworks and tambourines when he gets his miracle, but when Namaan arrives, Elisha won't even talk to him.  Instead, Elisha sends out an assistant to give Namaan one simple instruction: Take a bath in the Jordan River.  The plain, ordinary, muddy Jordan river.  How can you have miracles without flashing lights, and noise, and smoke?  Will Namaan overcome his pride and step into the Jordan?

In just five days, your young actor (age 6 - 11) will put on a complete musical - from first read-through to final performance. Every actor gets a part, their own moment to shine. Students will learn theatre basics like stage directions, blocking, choreography,  and backstage etiquette, as well as more complicated concepts like character development and script analysis. They'll practice teamwork, kindness, perseverance, and patience while accomplishing something great, and have lots of fun in the process!
